Impossibly blue and bright on the nose – blackberry pie, blueberry and fresh bay leaf. The wine is satisfying and fresh, almost uncomplicated in its expression of succulent, saturated fruit flavour. It is velvety and full.

Ulithorne Frux Frugis Shiraz 2018
As far as warm-climate shiraz goes, this is good. Contemporary in terms of lifted florals and a modicum of tension. Avuncular in terms of weight, power and the armchair you'll need to settle into after drinking it. Finishes with a dose of heat.

Dense, burly, rich and brimming with darker fruit tones, licorice strap, smoked meats, clove and alternate spices flowing from attack to finish – relishes it. A unashamedly big wine, of poise, power and precision.

Reschke Wines Bull Trader Coonawarra Shiraz 2020
A bright, super-pretty, sweetly fruited and gently spicy wine that shows the modern side of Coonawarra. The vinification is by no means groundbreaking, but the jubilant expression of fruit in the glass, is. This is delicious, verging on uncomplicated, and just a total delight.

Reschke Wines Vitulus Cabernet 2019
Dark, salted cassis and blackberry. In the mouth the wine is laced with a fine mineral seam of graphite tannins and saline acidity. This is very elegant, while also managing to convey great concentration of fruit. All things in balance, a classy wine to the end.

Reschke Wines Vitulus Shiraz 2020
This is a deeply satisfying rendition of Coonawarra shiraz. The brightness of the fruit is almost addictive, and very attractive. Hedonistic, but classy.

Reschke Wines Bos Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
As we expect from older cabernet, the tannins have melted into the fruit. The fruit is fleshy, dark and layered with spice: licorice root, star anise, clove and peppercorns, with a smattering of cigar box, tobacco leaf and freshly grated nutmeg. The chalky and very fine tannins are a highlight.
